A steady space for teens to be heard.

Age-appropriate therapy for teens 13 and older navigating anxiety, identity, relationships, and the pressures of adolescence — in person in Tallahassee, or by telehealth anywhere in Florida.

Support built for where teens actually are.

Adolescence brings real pressure — school, friendships, identity, family expectations, and a still-developing sense of self, all at once. Teen therapy gives your teen a private, supportive space with someone outside the family to work through what's hard.

Common reasons teens and families reach out include:

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Identity and self-esteem
  • Peer and relationship stress
  • Family conflict or communication difficulties
  • School or academic stress
  • Big transitions — new schools, family changes, and more

Finding the right level of support

Teen therapy is offered to clients age 13 and older, with in-person sessions in Tallahassee and telehealth for clients who will be physically located in Florida during their session, when telehealth is an appropriate fit for a teen client. Not sure this is the right fit, or have questions about insurance, Medicaid, or a specific concern? See our full answer on the Contact page, or ask during a free consultation.

What teen sessions may involve.

Sessions are paced and framed for where your teen is, not a smaller version of adult therapy.

A Private, Age-Appropriate Space

Conversation-based sessions that meet your teen where they are, without judgment or lecture.

Practical Coping Skills

Approaches such as CBT, DBT skills, and mindfulness, adapted for teens, to help manage anxiety and big emotions.

Family Involvement, As Needed

The extent of parent or guardian involvement is discussed during intake, based on your teen's needs and consent considerations.

In person in Tallahassee, or telehealth across Florida.

In-Person Care

Sessions at 219 Delta Court, Unit B, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Telehealth

May be considered for teens 13+ when privacy, safety, technology, and clinical fit support online care, and the client is physically located in Florida.

Which Therapist

Your teen's specific therapist match is discussed during the free consultation, based on fit, availability, and approach.

What teen therapy does not include

Hope Connection serves clients age 13 and older only; we do not treat children under 13. Teen therapy is not medication management or formal psychological testing, and the public consultation request form is not for urgent or clinical communication. If you're in crisis, please use the resources at the top of our Resources page or call 911.

Insurance and private-pay options.

Insurance participation varies by therapist. Charity Cannavo is in-network with Capital Health Plan (CHP), UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna, with private-pay sessions generally ranging from $100–$150. Angela Cash currently accepts self-pay clients, generally $80–$100. Limited sliding-scale availability may be offered.

A few quick answers.

Will my teen's sessions be shared with me?

Therapy is private, with legal and ethical limits your therapist will explain during intake — including how those limits apply to a minor client. Concerns about immediate safety are always an exception.

What does consent and guardian involvement look like?

Consent and guardian involvement requirements are reviewed as part of the intake process before ongoing sessions begin.

How do we get started?
