Support for the family, and for the parents raising it.

Family therapy for communication, conflict, and transitions — including sessions focused on parenting itself — in person in Tallahassee, or by telehealth anywhere in Florida.

Whole-family work, and parent-focused work.

Family therapy supports families working through communication difficulties, conflict, transitions, and relationship patterns that affect the family as a whole. Parent-focused concerns are generally addressed within family therapy rather than as a separate service — sessions can center on the parent-child relationship or parenting itself, not only on whole-family conversations.

Common reasons families and parents reach out include:

  • Communication breakdowns between family members
  • Ongoing conflict at home
  • Blended-family or major life transitions
  • Parenting challenges and support
  • Repairing or strengthening the parent-child relationship

Finding the right level of support

Family therapy is offered with in-person sessions in Tallahassee and telehealth for clients who will be physically located in Florida during their session. Hope Connection serves clients age 13 and older; we do not treat children under 13. Not sure this is the right fit, or have questions about insurance, Medicaid, or a specific concern? See our full answer on the Contact page, or ask during a free consultation.

Which Therapist

Which therapist and session format fits your family is discussed during your free consultation.

What family therapy does not include

Family therapy is not individual therapy for a child under 13, medication management, or formal psychological testing, and the public consultation request form is not for urgent or clinical communication. If you're in crisis, please use the resources at the top of our Resources page or call 911.

Insurance and private-pay options.

Insurance participation varies by therapist. Charity Cannavo is in-network with Capital Health Plan (CHP), UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna, with private-pay sessions generally ranging from $100–$150. Angela Cash currently accepts self-pay clients, generally $80–$100. Limited sliding-scale availability may be offered.

A few quick answers.

Does the whole family need to attend every session?

Not necessarily. Who attends is discussed based on your family's needs and goals — some sessions may involve everyone, others just a parent, or a parent and one child.

Can I come in just for parenting support, without the rest of the family?

Yes — parent-focused sessions are part of family therapy at Hope Connection, and don't require the rest of the family to attend.

How do we get started?

Request a free 15-minute consultation. A team member will follow up within 1–2 business days to discuss fit, availability, and payment before scheduling continues through Clerie.
