Compassionate support through life's hardest moments.
Grief counseling for loss, major life change, and the complex emotions that come with it โ in person in Tallahassee, or by telehealth anywhere in Florida.
There's no "right" way to grieve.
Grief doesn't follow a schedule, and it doesn't always look like sadness. Grief counseling is for adults and teens age 13+ processing a loss โ whenever that loss happened, and whatever it looks like for you.
Common reasons clients seek grief support include:
- The death of a loved one
- Divorce or the end of a significant relationship
- Job loss or a major life change
- Anticipatory grief, before an expected loss
- Grief that feels complicated, delayed, or hard to name
Finding the right level of support
Grief counseling is offered to adults and teens age 13 and older, with in-person sessions in Tallahassee and telehealth for clients who will be physically located in Florida during their session. What this does not include
Grief counseling is not medication management or formal psychological testing, and the public consultation request form is not for urgent or clinical communication. If grief comes with thoughts of harming yourself, please use the resources at the top of our Resources page or call 911 โ you don't have to carry that alone.
Insurance and private-pay options.
Insurance participation varies by therapist. Charity Cannavo is in-network with Capital Health Plan (CHP), UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna, with private-pay sessions generally ranging from $100โ$150. Angela Cash currently accepts self-pay clients, generally $80โ$100. Limited sliding-scale availability may be offered.
A few quick answers.
Is there a "right" amount of time to wait before starting grief counseling?
No. Some people reach out right away, others years later โ there's no wrong time to seek support for grief.
Can grief counseling help before a loss happens, not just after?
Yes โ support for anticipatory grief, ahead of an expected loss, is part of what grief counseling can offer.
How do I get started?
